About this dive site
This dive site is located on the North Eastern point of South Solitary Island. It’s a unique location known as Cleaner Station, characterized by a large boulder that blocks the entrance to a gutter – a prime cleaning station habitat. These stations offer a fascinating opportunity for divers to observe fish engaging in parasite removal rituals facilitated by resident Cleaner Wrasse. The mooring is situated 12 meters deep at the rock's base, with surrounding boulders extending up to 18 meters below the surface. This area attracts large pelagic species like Kingfish and provides regular sightings of Grey Nurse Sharks deeper down. A connecting gutter leads into Cleaner Cave, a short passage offering shelter for unusual marine life such as Ornate Ghostpipefish and Angler Handfish—a truly remarkable discovery in this region. The rock formation itself blocks the entrance to the cave.
