Magic Point has earned a reputation for being a spectacular gathering point for Sydney’s Grey Nurse sharks population which can seen while scuba diving all year round, with Sydney’s summer months starting around December and slowing down around May, this period being the most productive mating time for Grey Nurse sharks off Sydney, this is when Grey Nurse shark numbers can grow to around 25-30. This dive site is famous for its large underwater rock ledge and cavern, which serves as a critical habitat for a significant population of Grey Nurse Sharks. Divers can reliably observe these majestic sharks resting in the gutter, especially during the winter months. The site also features abundant fish life, including Giant Cuttlefish, Weedy Seadragons, and large Blue Gropers.
