About this dive site

This dive site is located within the North Harbour Aquatic Reserve. The area features a varied underwater landscape consisting of boulders and rock ledges, descending from approximately 14 meters to reach the sandy bottom at 25 meters. A notable feature is the presence of swim-throughs near the 16-meter mark, offering opportunities for exploration. As you descend towards the sand, sponge life becomes increasingly abundant, with numerous Sea tulips, Lacy Corals, and sponges alongside a diverse collection of nudibranchs. The site offers excellent visibility when exploring the sandy area where you are likely to encounter Weedy sea dragons, Port jacksons, Crested horn sharks, Flying gurnards, and rays. Shallow areas may reveal Wobbegongs, Eastern blue devil fish, Mado, Sweep, and Pomfret. Keep in mind that the abundance of Weedy sea dragons on the sand line can provide a rewarding dive experience for extended periods; however, consider surfacing if you plan to explore further.
