This dive site is Redhead Point, located off the rock face of Redhead, accessible only by boat. The underwater topography features a sandy bottom interspersed with numerous bommies and weedy patches, offering an interesting exploration for divers. Navigation is generally straightforward, exploring around the bommies, making it suitable for divers of all experience levels.
Divers can expect to encounter a diverse range of marine life, including large ocean wobbegongs, graceful eagle rays, and various sting rays. Smaller creatures like nudibranchs and moray eels can be found amongst the rocks and weeds, while schools of fish frequently pass through the area, adding to the vibrant underwater scenery.
With a maximum depth of 12 meters and an average depth of around 6 meters, Redhead Point is ideal for extended bottom times and a relaxed dive experience. It's particularly well-suited for beginners due to its shallow nature and for advanced divers looking for macro opportunities or to observe larger rays and wobbegongs.
