About this dive site
This dive site presents the Satara, a substantial wreck resting on a sandy seabed. The wreck’s maximum depth is 44 meters, making it accessible only with technical diving qualifications and experience. It's recommended to plan two dives for experienced open circuit technical divers due to its size – approximately 30 minutes are needed for a full circumnavigation. Rebreather divers can enjoy extended explorations. The bow of the Satara remains relatively intact, offering opportunities for artifact hunting for patient divers. The wreck lies on a generally north-east heading and has limited penetration possibilities as the sides have largely collapsed. Visibility typically ranges up to 30 meters on favorable days, although currents can be stronger near the water’s surface than at depth. Water temperatures range from 14 to 24 degrees Celsius. The surrounding seabed features scattered bommies within approximately 30 meters of the wreck.
