About this dive site
This dive site presents the SS Tuggerah, a 1919 wreck located off Wattamolla in Royal National Park. The wreck rests on its port side at approximately 48 meters deep and is suitable for experienced technical divers. Upon descending, you’ll be immediately greeted by abundant marine life, including bullseye fish, yellowtail, and grouper – so many that the wreckage itself becomes difficult to see. Once anchored, exploring reveals boilers that are remarkably well-preserved and frequently host large wobbegong sharks. Visibility is generally good, typically ranging from 15 meters or more, although the dense fish population often obscures the view of the wreck itself. Time seems to pass quickly at this depth due to the sheer volume of life present.
