About this dive site
This dive site, known as The Monument, offers a diverse underwater experience within the Tamar River. Located near Paterson Monument, divers can access the site with easy parking and entry at high tide. The area provides opportunities for dives ranging from 15 meters to beyond 40 meters – however, exploration of deeper depths should only be undertaken by those with sufficient experience and appropriate skills. The Tamar isn't typically known for exceptional visibility; bringing a torch will significantly enhance your underwater view and reveal the vibrant colours and abundant life present. You’ll find a rich ecosystem including seahorses, soft sponge growth, cuttlefish, octopus, and many other fascinating creatures. Dive profiles are varied, offering plenty to explore within 15 meters, with the potential for deeper exploration if you're equipped and experienced enough.
