This dive site, Tourist Rocks, is accessed via a tricky shore entry, requiring some care. After a short 30-meter surface swim, divers descend into usually clear waters. The underwater navigation is straightforward, leading to beautiful coral formations, making the initial effort worthwhile.
The site is teeming with marine life, including abundant bigeye and old wives fish. Divers can also encounter various grouper species, vibrant blue morwong (Queenie), Harlequin, and dusky morwong. A particular highlight for macro enthusiasts are the uniquely colored nudibranchs found among the corals.
With its shallow depth and clear visibility, Tourist Rocks is suitable for both scuba divers and freedivers, offering excellent photographic opportunities for both wide-angle coral shots and intricate macro subjects. The site's generally calm conditions and rich biodiversity make it a rewarding destination, though divers should prepare for the challenging entry.
