About this dive site

This dive site, known as ÖBF Bad, offers a versatile diving experience with a maximum depth of 16 meters and a gently sloping shore entry. Divers can navigate by following the shore or exploring purpose-built platforms located at 5m and 10m. Key points of interest include a small sailing boat wreck situated to the left of the 5m platform near the entrance, and a motorbike, along with several other designated points of interest scattered across the site.
The marine life at ÖBF Bad is typical for an Austrian lake, featuring various freshwater species. Divers can frequently encounter pike, especially to the left of the stream entrance. During the autumn months, the bottom areas are known for large shoals of perch, providing excellent opportunities for observing these fish in their natural habitat.
The best time to visit ÖBF Bad for observing perch shoals is during autumn. This site is suitable for divers of all levels due to its shallow maximum depth and easy shore access. Freedivers will also find the platforms and varying depths conducive for breath-hold diving practice. It's advisable to check local water temperatures, as mountain lakes can be cool, especially outside of summer.
