This dive site, Neufelder See Strandbad, is located at the southern end of Neufeldsee in Austria, offering easy shore access approximately 100 meters from the parking lot. Divers can utilize two available jetties, which lead to an underwater platform situated at 5 meters deep, ideal for training exercises and skill development. The shore area begins shallow and then gradually slopes down, reaching depths greater than 8 meters and a maximum of 12 meters. It serves as a popular local freshwater dive spot.
The Neufelder See is home to typical freshwater aquatic life. Divers can expect to encounter various fish species such as carp, pike, and perch, along with other smaller freshwater inhabitants. The underwater environment also features diverse aquatic plants and algae that thrive in temperate lake conditions, providing shelter and sustenance for the local fauna.
This dive site is accessible year-round, with WC facilities remaining open even in winter, making it a reliable option for consistent diving. The 5-meter platform is excellent for buoyancy practice, confined water skills, and open water training. It is particularly well-suited for new divers due to its manageable depth and straightforward access. Divers should be prepared for cooler water temperatures, especially outside of the summer months, and consider appropriate thermal protection like a dry suit.
