This dive site, Weissensee Ost Hausriff, is a freshwater house reef situated on the eastern shore of Lake Weissensee, directly within the Stockenboi lido. It features a unique terraced underwater landscape that gently slopes away from the shoreline, making it easy to navigate. The site doesn't have a known historical background but serves as a readily accessible and popular spot for local divers.
The main attraction of this reef is the abundant freshwater marine life. From July to September, divers can expect to see large schools of approximately 50 perches, a special highlight. Additionally, large pike and carp are frequently encountered, adding to the excitement of the dive. While specific plant life isn't detailed, typical lake vegetation would be present.
The best time to visit for seeing the perches is during the summer months of July, August, and September. This shallow and accessible site is ideal for beginners, photographers, and those looking for relaxed lake diving. Both freedivers and snorkelers will find the shallow depths and interesting fish life highly suitable for their activities.
