About this dive site
This dive site is located at De Nekker, a 65-hectare recreation center. The area includes a naturally formed pond and a section created after sand extraction for the E-19 construction project, resulting in a total diving pond size of 30 hectares. It functions as a swimming, surfing, and fishing lake, offering ample space for water activities with minimal congestion. An extensive sandy beach, originating from the North Sea, provides easy access to the water. The site features a building with essential facilities like theory rooms, changing areas, and a bar – often used by various diving clubs on scheduled times. There are two distinct dive locations, allowing convenient entry into the water. De Nekker boasts classic freshwater flora and fauna, including a notable population of pike, grass carp, and even catfish. Divers can explore submerged objects such as cars, boats, pipes, road signs, a fire truck, and a diving bell. The pond’s diverse ecosystem presents an interesting experience for divers.
