About this dive site

This dive site is the South Water Caye Marine Reserve, located in Belize. It's the second largest marine reserve in the country and a recognized ‘divers’ paradise’. Established by the Fisheries Department in 1996, it was created to protect its exceptional marine ecosystems, which hold national, regional, and international importance. The reserve covers an expansive area of 117,875 acres (approximately 47,700 hectares), boasting rich biodiversity, pristine reefs, and a wealth of incredible marine life. It is known for its vibrant underwater environment.
