This dive site, officially named Jeff Davis Memorial (18), is situated at the beginning of Bonaire's northern dive route. It is named in honor of diving physician Jefferson C. Davis, who tragically passed away at this location. Divers will encounter a notable 'large step down' feature in the topography, providing an interesting reef structure to explore.
The site hosts typical Caribbean marine life, offering opportunities to spot nurse sharks and reef sharks, as well as possible eagle rays and stingrays. Abundant fish species include snapper, angelfish, grunts, and parrotfish, contributing to a vibrant and healthy reef ecosystem.
Bonaire offers excellent diving year-round, making any time suitable to visit Jeff Davis Memorial. For divers, managing buoyancy around the 'large step down' is key to enjoying the reef. Freedivers will appreciate the average depth of 10 meters, allowing for ample bottom time to observe the rich marine life.
