This dive site, known as Yellow Submarine, offers an easy shore entry next to a pier. Divers simply head straight out to access the vibrant reef, which starts at a shallow 6 meters and slopes down to approximately 30 meters, though the site's maximum recommended depth is 19 meters. While no specific historical accounts are widely known, it's a popular and accessible spot that embodies a typical Bonaire reef experience.
The reef here is home to a variety of typical Caribbean reef fish, offering good sightings during dives. Abundant corals, including various hard and soft species, form the foundation of the ecosystem. Divers can expect to encounter parrotfish, angelfish, damselfish, surgeonfish, and trumpetfish, among others, despite the coral health being noted as less pristine compared to some other Bonaire locations.
Divers should be mindful of boat traffic, particularly near the entry and exit points by the pier. As with most of Bonaire, the dive conditions are generally excellent year-round with great visibility and mild currents. This site is highly suitable for both snorkelers and freedivers due to its shallow reef top and manageable depths.
