About this dive site

This dive site, Mara Rosa, presents a unique opportunity for divers. It’s located within an old deactivated gold mine, offering a fascinating historical element to the underwater experience. The lake itself is approximately 300 meters in diameter and reaches depths of up to 52 meters in open water. The area features conduits – excavated during mining operations – that extend down to 74 meters with a roof intact. Visibility ranges from 6 meters at its lowest, improving considerably throughout the year to potentially reach 30 meters. The water temperature typically hovers around 28 degrees Celsius and maintains a beautiful blue hue. This dive site is particularly well-suited for experienced divers, especially those interested in technical diving, trimix explorations, or cave/tech dives with appropriate certifications.
