About this dive site

This dive site presents the wreck of the P.B. Locke, a 136-foot schooner built in 1873. Originally converted into a barge for hauling stone and tragically sinking in a storm on October 1912, the vessel foundered off the coast. Remarkably, all ten crew members survived the event. The wreck was discovered by the Nautilus Scuba Club in August 2000 and is currently moored by Save Ontario Shipwrecks. While fairly broken up, several notable artifacts remain visible on the seabed including a bell, an anchor, and various tools, dishes, and a stove. This provides a unique opportunity to explore a significant historical maritime site.
