Runway

This dive site, known as Runway, is situated directly in front of the airport runway in the Cook Islands. It features several smaller reef plateaus separated by sandy trenches, creating an interesting topography for exploration. Divers can navigate by following these natural channels and exploring the vibrant reef structures. The site is particularly noted for its smaller marine inhabitants, being a good spot to find lionfish, scorpionfish, and various moray eels. In season, divers might also be lucky enough to encounter eagle rays gracefully gliding through the water, adding to the allure. The best time to visit for potential eagle ray sightings would be during their migratory season. This site is suitable for all levels of divers, offering shallower sections for beginners and deeper areas for more experienced divers. It's also excellent for freedivers due to its manageable maximum depth and interesting features.
