This dive site, known as Sea Star House Reef, is conveniently located directly in front of the Sea Star diving center in Croatia. It is easily accessible from both land and the dive center's dock, making it a very convenient entry point for divers. The topography features a gentle slope, dropping off to a maximum depth of 12-14 meters, making navigation straightforward and suitable for various training activities, including Open Water courses and more complex navigation and night dives.
The house reef boasts a diverse array of marine life typical of the Adriatic Sea. Divers can expect to encounter fascinating creatures such as octopus, various species of groupers, secretive moray eels, and curious cuttlefish. Additionally, smaller invertebrates like salps and a variety of other fish species thrive amidst the combination of sandy and rocky bottoms that characterize this underwater landscape.
The Sea Star House Reef is an ideal location for diving almost year-round, though the warmer months from May to October typically offer the most comfortable conditions and best visibility. It's particularly well-suited for beginner training and skill development, providing a safe and controlled environment. For freedivers and snorkelers, the relatively shallow depths and abundant marine life offer an enjoyable experience close to the surface, making it a versatile spot for all water enthusiasts.
