About this dive site

This dive site, known as Chapel (Agioi Anargyroi), offers a gradual sloping reef experience in Cyprus. Divers enter via a giant stride, with the bottom initially at 10 meters before sloping gently down to a maximum depth of around 23 meters. The exit is at the same location as the entry point, which can present a minor challenge due to the height difference and a ledge above the waterline. Navigation is generally straightforward, following the sloping reef down and back up.

The marine life at Chapel is quite diverse, offering a good opportunity for underwater photography. Divers can expect to see saddle bream, ornate wrasse, blue-spotted cornetfish, damselfish, and even the occasional lionfish. The reef itself may host various invertebrates and smaller fish, providing ample opportunities for macro photography.

The best time to visit is during the warmer months (May-October) when water temperatures are more comfortable and visibility is generally better. It's advisable to check weather and sea conditions before embarking on a dive. While the currents are typically mild, divers should be aware of the potential for some surge. Freediving is possible, but attention should be paid to the depth and the effort required to exit the water.
