This dive site, Scotts Head Drop Off, is a vibrant and colorful wall dive located at the picturesque southern tip of Dominica. Often visited as a second dive, its manageable depth and rich biodiversity make it accessible and rewarding. Divers navigate along an impressive wall characterized by numerous crevices and cracks, providing a constantly engaging topography and excellent opportunities for exploration.
The site is celebrated for its abundant marine life, particularly its macro subjects. It's a prime location for spotting a variety of small creatures including lobsters, crabs, and shrimps, which find refuge within the wall's intricate features. The wall itself is adorned with a stunning array of colorful corals and sponges, contributing to its designation as an 'amazing wall that is absolutely full of colour.' While predominantly a macro haven, divers are sometimes treated to sightings of larger pelagics such as rays and turtles.
Scotts Head Drop Off offers a beautiful experience for divers of all levels, with its vibrant ecosystems thriving from 5 meters down to its maximum depth of 21 meters. For snorkelers and freedivers, the shallow, colorful sections are equally captivating. While conditions within the bay are generally calm, divers should be aware that currents can become noticeable if venturing outside the protected bay area.
