About this dive site
This dive site, known as 'Little Canyon' or Ras Abu Helal, translates to 'Headland of the Crescent Moon'. Located south of Abu Talha in Dahab, this unique area offers exceptional diving experiences. Diving at this location is restricted to high tide and perfect conditions, preserving the remarkable health of its coral reefs, which are considered some of the finest in the region. It caters to both technical and recreational divers. The site features a shallow lagoon approximately 12 meters deep, surrounded by a gently sloping bay. A significant highlight is the broad ridge extending from the northern side, boasting one of the most spectacular coral gardens in Dahab. Experienced divers can explore a deeper canyon descending to 30-40 meters at the end of this ridge. The site’s relatively low visitation contributes significantly to the pristine condition of its underwater environment.
