About this dive site
This dive site, Coral Garden in Gassous Bay, Egypt, is a easily accessible house reef offering calm and enjoyable dives for all levels. The reef is divided into a north and south side, allowing for exploration in various directions depending on the diver's preference. The shallow depths and lack of current make navigation straightforward, suitable for both novice and experienced divers. There is no boat traffic, adding to the serenity of the underwater world.
The marine life is abundant and diverse. Expect to encounter a wide array of species, from the smaller inhabitants like colorful snails and shrimps to larger creatures such as leopard and ferret-tailed stingrays. The reef is home to a variety of fish species including (though not limited to) those that support the sighting of bigger animals like whale sharks and seahorses. The coral formations provide a beautiful backdrop for the diverse marine life.
The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months (spring and autumn). Visibility is generally good. The lack of current and easy shore access makes this an ideal location for both scuba diving and freediving. It is also excellent for night dives, which may reveal different species. Remember to always check weather conditions and respect the fragile coral ecosystem.
