About this dive site
This dive site, known as Eel Gardens, offers a unique and captivating underwater experience. The area is named for the abundant garden eels that inhabit the seabed, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of waving creatures amidst the reef. Access to the dive begins with a short traverse over a shallow reef plate leading to a nine-meter canyon which opens into a sizable sandy slope descending gradually. A prominent reef section, extending perpendicularly from the main reef, reveals the eels as you explore along it – they appear and disappear amongst the current. The dive reaches a maximum depth of approximately 20 meters where coral boulders and table corals create a relatively flat environment. Barracudas are frequently observed patrolling this area. Returning towards the surface, around 5 and 10 meters, divers can discover a diverse collection of both soft and hard corals. Keep an eye out for the rare sea grass ghost pipe-fish during these shallower explorations.
