About this dive site

This dive site, Habili Orca, is a charming and recently discovered reef in the Egyptian Red Sea, first explored in 2017. Located very close to the shore but submerged, it requires flat sea conditions for safe and enjoyable diving. Divers can easily navigate around the entire reef within a 60-minute dive, exploring its vibrant hard coral formations and diverse ecosystems. It's a relatively small reef, typical of 'Habili' sites, which are offshore pinnacles or submerged formations.

Habili Orca boasts a rich array of marine life. Divers can encounter colorful Nemo (clownfish) in anemones, various Moray eels, majestic Napoleon Wrasse, and camouflaged Scorpionfish. The site is also home to White tip reef sharks, Buffer fish, Parrotfish, and Triggerfish. A notable feature is the Eel garden located very close to the south side of the reef, adding another fascinating element to the dive.

The best time to visit Habili Orca is when the sea is calm, ensuring easy access and optimal underwater conditions. This site is particularly suitable for both snorkelers and freedivers due to its relatively shallow maximum depth and rich marine life within easy reach. For scuba divers, it's an excellent spot for multiple dives, especially for macro photography enthusiasts and those looking to enjoy a relaxed dive among healthy corals.
