About this dive site

This dive site is the Kimon M wreck, the fourth wreck in the renowned Abu Nuhas reef area in Egypt. It's smaller than the other wrecks in the area, but still offers a fascinating dive experience. Due to its proximity to the Chrisoula K wreck, it's often dived as part of a drift dive, allowing divers to explore both wrecks in a single dive provided sufficient air supply. The wreck itself sits at a depth ranging from 5 to 27 meters, making it accessible to a wide range of divers, but requiring careful navigation.

The marine life at the Kimon M wreck is diverse and abundant. Divers can expect to encounter a variety of fish, including stonefish, scorpionfish, morays, lionfish, snappers, and boxfish. The wreck itself is also home to a range of invertebrates such as nudibranchs and crustaceans. Soft corals adorn parts of the wreck and surrounding reef, adding to the overall visual appeal. Stingrays may also be spotted in the sandy areas near the wreck.

The best time to visit the Abu Nuhas reef and the Kimon M wreck is during the warmer months, from April to October, when water conditions are generally more stable and visibility is excellent. However, the currents can be variable, and divers should always check the weather and sea conditions before embarking on a dive. It's advisable to dive with an experienced guide who is familiar with the area and the current conditions. Due to the depth and potential currents, this dive is not suitable for beginners or freediving.
