This dive site, Shaab Abu Nuhas, is located approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes north of El Gouna in Egypt. It features a beautiful coral garden that gently slopes down to a wonderful coral drop-off, making it an easy and accessible dive for all experience levels. While generally calm, currents from the north can sometimes be present, transforming it into an enjoyable drift dive.
The rich marine ecosystem here hosts a variety of interesting species. Divers can expect to encounter fascinating creatures such as moray eels, stone fish, scorpion fish, and lion fish. Other common inhabitants include flute fish, puffer fish, rays, snappers, vibrant clownfish, and elusive octopus.
The dive site offers excellent conditions for both divers and snorkelers throughout the year, with generally clear waters typical of the Red Sea. The site's diverse topography and marine life make it ideal for both wide-angle photography of the coral landscapes and macro photography of the smaller reef dwellers. Freedivers will also appreciate the manageable depths and vibrant reef.
