About this dive site

This dive site is comprised of three pinnacles: Shark Reef, Yolanda Reef, and Satellite Reef, forming a renowned dive location in Ras Mohammed National Park, Egypt. Yolanda Reef is particularly famous for the remnants of the Yolanda shipwreck, including scattered toilets and a mast, creating a unique and intriguing underwater landscape. Navigation is straightforward, with the pinnacles providing clear reference points. The site's history is intertwined with the ill-fated Yolanda, adding to its allure.

Marine life is abundant and diverse. Large schools of batfish, barracudas, snappers, and jacks patrol the open water outside the reefs. Inside the reefs, cleaning stations teem with activity, attracting rays and turtles. A variety of colorful coral and smaller reef fish inhabit the nooks and crannies of the reef structure.

The best time to visit is during the warmer months, from April to October, when water temperatures are pleasant and visibility is typically excellent. Stronger currents can be experienced, especially during the summer, so divers should be comfortable with moderate currents. While snorkeling is possible, the best experience is definitely achieved by scuba diving to fully explore the underwater wonders of Shark and Yolanda Reef. Freediving is not recommended due to the depth and potential for currents.
