About this dive site
This dive site features the SS Thistlegorm, a remarkably well-preserved wreck renowned throughout the world. Constructed in 1940 as a cargo freighter during World War II, the vessel now lies at a considerable depth and offers an extraordinary glimpse into wartime history. The ship’s length is approximately 126 meters. Divers can explore extensive cargo holds filled with military equipment recovered from various battles. Hold No. 1 contains boots and motorcycles, while Hold No. 2 houses trucks, armored vehicles, more motorcycles, Wellington boots, rifles, wings, engine exhaust rings, and cylinders. Notably, a steam locomotive is located on the port side near the blast area, and another locomotive sits off the starboard side at approximately the same level as Hold No. 2.
