About this dive site

This dive site, The Bells, is a challenging but rewarding dive located a short drive north of Dahab, Egypt. It serves as an entry point for dives towards the famed Blue Hole. Divers descend to a dramatic drop-off wall reaching depths of 100-110 meters, making it a site best suited for experienced divers comfortable with deeper dives and potentially strong currents. Navigating the entrance requires careful planning and awareness, making it crucial to dive with a reputable guide.

The Bells boasts a rich diversity of marine life. Delicate purple net corals and white soft corals cling to overhangs at around 30 meters, providing excellent opportunities for macro photography. Larger fish are occasionally seen passing by in the blue. While the specific species may vary, divers can expect a variety of reef fish common to the Red Sea, alongside the possibility of spotting larger pelagic species.

The best time to visit The Bells is during the warmer months (spring and autumn) when water conditions are generally calmer and visibility is at its best. Divers should be prepared for the potential of moderate currents, especially during stronger winds. Experienced divers and experienced freedivers (though freediving at this depth is extremely dangerous and should be avoided) should be comfortable with deep dives and potential navigation challenges. A dive computer, proper equipment, and a guide are essential for a safe and enjoyable dive.
