This dive site, known as The Lighthouse, is a renowned location within Dahab Bay, approximately 3.5 km from the town center. Suitable for divers of all experience levels, it typically involves a shore entry leading to a sandy slope. This slope guides divers towards impressive coral columns and boulders, eventually transitioning into a vibrant coral wall on the return journey. The site also features an 'underwater museum', adding a unique artificial reef element to its natural beauty.
The Lighthouse boasts a rich diversity of marine life, including an abundance of hard and soft corals of all types. Macro enthusiasts will delight in finding nudibranchs nestled on sponges, while reef fish of various species, octopuses, and turtles are commonly encountered. This vibrant ecosystem provides excellent opportunities for both wide-angle and macro photography.
The Lighthouse is an excellent year-round dive destination in Dahab, with generally stable and pleasant conditions. Its shallow depths and clear waters make it perfect for beginners, as well as freedivers and snorkelers who can explore the reef from the surface. For divers, exploring the coral wall and seeking out the resident macro life and occasional turtles are highlights, making it a must-visit site in the Red Sea.
