About this dive site

This dive site is located at the Port de la Rague in France, a protected bathing area perfect for beginner divers. The shallow depths and lack of currents make it an ideal location for introductory dives, with easy access directly from the pontoon. There is no need for a boat, making it exceptionally convenient. The dive site offers a varied underwater landscape, combining sandy areas with rocky outcrops.

The marine life here is typical of the Mediterranean coast. Divers can expect to see various fish species such as saupes and girelles, along with the occasional octopus. While larger animals are less frequent, the abundance of smaller creatures provides opportunities for macro photography.

The best time to visit is during the warmer months, typically from late spring to autumn, when the water is warmest and visibility is at its best. Freediving here is excellent due to the calm conditions and shallow depths; however, always maintain proper safety procedures. Divers should check weather conditions before venturing into the water, and consider bringing a dive light, although not entirely necessary given the shallow depths.
