About this dive site
This dive site, Bobby, is located off the coast of Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone in France. It's characterized by a gently sloping scree field, ranging in depth from approximately 8 to 12 meters. The wide expanse of the seabed offers ample opportunity for exploration and discovery. Navigation is straightforward, following the natural contours of the scree. No known historical significance is currently attached to this dive site.
The marine life at Bobby is diverse and abundant. You can encounter numerous species of sar and rock fish, which are common in the Mediterranean. A highlight is the presence of various nudibranchs, including the striking superb giant dory. Tritons, a type of large sea snail, are also regularly sighted. The diverse species of Mediterranean fish that can be seen are a major highlight of this site.
The best time to visit Bobby is likely during the warmer months (spring and summer) when water temperatures are more pleasant and visibility is often better. The calm conditions generally make this site suitable for both scuba diving and freediving, though divers and freedivers should always check the weather and sea conditions before entering the water. Be mindful of the depth and of the marine life.
