About this dive site
This dive site, Jardins de Sainte-Luce, off the coast of Sainte-Luce, Martinique, is characterized by its varied underwater topography. Divers will find a series of plateaus and drop-offs, with a convenient 7-meter anchorage point at plateau level making it accessible to divers of all experience levels. The site is easily navigable, progressing from shallower areas to deeper sections, allowing divers to tailor their exploration to their comfort level.
The marine life at Jardins de Sainte-Luce is abundant and diverse. Schools of manioc (likely referring to a type of fish, possibly similar to grunts) are common, along with kingfish, and shoals of pagras (snapper). The diverse coral formations themselves support a rich variety of smaller reef fish and invertebrates.
The best time to visit is likely during the drier months (November to May) when visibility is generally better and the seas are calmer. This site is suitable for both scuba diving and freediving, provided divers are aware of their own limits. However, even mild currents may be present, so it's advisable to be mindful of drift and plan dives accordingly. The shallower areas are ideal for snorkeling.
