About this dive site
This dive site presents a unique opportunity to explore Miomo's P47, an American fighter aircraft remarkably well-preserved at a depth of 20 meters. The wreck is considered quite rare due to its shallow location and the presence of significant marine life. It’s populated by groupers, moray eels, beautiful carnation coral, capon, and a fascinating array of cardinalfish that have effectively colonized the plane's engine compartment – a truly remarkable sight. Divers can also examine the remnants of a 12.7 caliber machine gun located within one wing, along with associated bullets and magazine fragments. Several nearby rocks provide easy access to the site and opportunities for exploration beyond the wreck itself. This dive offers a rewarding experience for those seeking a glimpse into aviation history combined with vibrant underwater ecosystems.
