About this dive site

This dive site, Pointe Malendure, is renowned among local instructors for its beauty and accessibility. It's frequently used as a starting point for drift dives towards neighboring sites like Japanese Garden or Anse Négresse. The relatively shallow maximum depth makes it suitable for divers of all levels, and the gentle slopes often allow for a relaxing exploration of the reef's ecosystem.

The underwater landscape teems with marine life, notably juvenile and adult royal angels and a healthy population of both hawksbill and green sea turtles. A variety of reef fish, corals and other invertebrates add to the vibrant ecosystem. It is not uncommon to see other reef fish and corals common to the Caribbean region.

The best time to visit is during the dry season, generally from December to May, when visibility is typically at its best and conditions are calmer. For freediving, the shallow depths and often calm waters make it an ideal location for beginners and experienced freedivers alike. Divers should be aware of potential currents, although they are usually mild. Always dive with a buddy and check the weather conditions before entering the water.
