About this dive site

This dive site features the wreck of Le Rubis, one of the rare submarine wrecks accessible to divers in the Mediterranean Sea. Located near the Saint Mandrier peninsula and the entrance to Toulon’s harbor, it offers a fascinating glimpse into maritime history. The Ariane, another submarine, is nearby but remains prohibited for diving due to safety concerns since 1997. Numerous German U-Boats from World War II rest along the Atlantic coast or in the English Channel, however, Le Rubis provides an exceptionally well-preserved view thanks to the clear waters surrounding it. The relatively shallow depth and clarity of the sand create exceptional visibility. This dive offers a unique opportunity to explore a significant historical artifact within a remarkably accessible environment.
