About this dive site

This dive site, known as Mur de corail or Coral Wall, is situated just outside Opunohu Bay. It offers divers an engaging exploration of coral canyons and gentle slopes, navigating an underwater topography that is both interesting and accommodating. While there's no specific historical narrative provided, its natural formation provides a dynamic environment for diverse marine life. Key marine inhabitants include numerous green sea turtles, often found traversing the coral canyons. Divers can also frequently spot various triggerfish, and occasionally encounter larger pelagics such as leopard rays, lemon sharks, and whitetip reef sharks, making for exciting encounters. The site is accessible year-round, but the best conditions in French Polynesia are typically during the dry season (May to October) when water is calmer and visibility is at its peak. With depths ranging from 10 to 20 meters, it's ideal for both novice divers and experienced photographers seeking wide-angle opportunities with the abundant big marine life and vibrant coral structures.
