About this dive site
This dive site is located north of Munich, near Eching in the Freising district. It's a quarry lake created during motorway construction in 1965 and offers a unique diving experience due to its consistently clear water and abundant aquatic life. The lake’s constant replenishment with cold, groundwater ensures remarkably stable temperatures year-round; summers rarely exceed 12-13°C, while winter temperatures remain above 7-8°C, preventing freezing. Visibility is generally very good, providing excellent conditions for exploring the site's interesting features, such as an alien sculpture, an Ikea shopping trolley, and a Roman helmet. The lake’s ecosystem supports a rich variety of fish. This location makes it suitable for divers of all levels.
