This dive site is the Freibad Windischeschenbach, an outdoor swimming pool primarily used for swimming, but also suitable for beginner scuba training and freediving. It features dedicated non-swimmer and swimmer pools, including a 50m lane, providing a controlled and safe environment for practicing skills. Its purpose is purely recreational and educational within a pool setting.
As an artificial outdoor pool, there is no natural marine life or aquatic vegetation to observe. The only "living creatures" encountered underwater are human divers and swimmers, sometimes referred to humorously as "neoprene fish." The underwater environment consists solely of pool tiles and typical swimming pool infrastructure.
The best time to visit is during the outdoor pool's operating season, typically summer months, for optimal conditions. This site is ideal for new divers to practice buoyancy and basic skills, and for freedivers to train breath-hold techniques in a safe, shallow, and current-free environment. It's also suitable for families, offering a children's play area with a paddling pool.
