About this dive site
This dive site offers a fascinating exploration of the wreck of "ANNA II", a 62-meter long cargo ship that tragically sank in the South-East part of Mykonos on July 20, 1995. Built in 1966 by Fa Hijlkema & Zonen BODEWES SCHEEPWERK N. V. in Holland and originally operated by I/S Knud Sif Kopenhagen (with the name "Knud Sif"), the ship remains remarkably intact on the seabed, providing a unique opportunity to witness maritime history firsthand. The site is easily accessible from Lia Beach, making it conveniently located for divers. A small section of the wreck can be entered, offering a glimpse into its interior. Surrounding the wreck is a vibrant reef teeming with biodiversity, including an abundance of colourful sponges. This artificial reef has become a haven for a diverse array of marine life, creating an exceptional diving experience. The ship’s condition suggests it's suitable for experienced divers comfortable with exploring wrecks.
