About this dive site

This dive site is the house reef of the Azure Diving Center, making it easily accessible for divers of all levels. The shallow, calm waters and gentle slope make it ideal for new divers learning their skills, experienced divers wanting a relaxed refresher dive, or even for snorkeling and freediving. Navigation is straightforward, following the reef's gentle incline. There is no known particular history or story tied to this specific reef, but its proximity to the dive center makes it a convenient and reliable site.

The reef boasts a diverse range of marine life, commonly encountered species include wide-eyed flounder, big-scale sand smelt, garpike, brown comber, painted comber, numerous seabream species, and occasional seahorses and barracudas. While not a coral reef in the classic sense, the rocky substrate supports various invertebrates and algae, providing habitats for the diverse fish population.

The best time to visit is likely during the warmer months, from May to October, when water temperatures are pleasant and visibility is usually at its best. However, this is a shallow reef, so the conditions are usually favorable year-round. Divers should check the weather forecast before diving. For freedivers, the shallow depth and calm conditions make it a perfect location for practicing various freediving techniques. Remember to respect the marine environment, keeping a safe distance from marine life and avoiding touching or disturbing the reef.
