About this dive site

This dive site is located in Kalithea Bay, a historic area a few kilometers south of Rhodes City. The bay itself is situated within the Kalithea monument, creating a stunning underwater and above-water setting. Navigation is straightforward due to the shallow depth and clear visibility. The site is known for its beautiful cavern formations and a relatively calm underwater environment.

The bay offers a variety of marine life typical of the Mediterranean. Divers and snorkelers can expect to see a diverse range of fish species, including smaller reef fish and potentially larger species depending on the season. Various types of Mediterranean corals and other invertebrates are also present.

The best time to visit Kalithea Bay for diving and snorkeling is during the warmer months (May-October) when the water temperature is at its most comfortable. Visibility tends to be best during these months. For freediving, remember to always dive within your limits and respect the marine environment. Avoid disturbing marine life and practice responsible diving.
