About this dive site

This dive site, known simply as "Rock", is located off the coast of Greece and offers a fascinating dive experience suitable for all levels. The dive begins with a gentle descent into a narrow underwater canyon at 6 meters, providing a sheltered and interesting entry point. From there, the seabed slopes gradually down to a maximum depth of 24 meters, opening into a captivating seascape of large, solitary rocks creating diverse habitats. Navigation is straightforward, following the natural contours of the canyon and the sloping seabed.

The marine life here is abundant and varied. Divers can expect to encounter groupers, combers, and numerous scorpionfish among the reef's many inhabitants. Other smaller fish and invertebrates would add to the biodiversity of the site. The rocky landscape also provides excellent habitats for a wide variety of species.

The best time to visit this dive site is during the warmer months, from May to October, when water temperatures are most pleasant and visibility is typically at its best. Divers should be aware that although current strength is usually mild, conditions can change. Freediving is possible in this area given the shallow and varied terrain, making it suitable for breath-hold dives, but divers should always prioritize safety and plan accordingly.
