About this dive site

This dive site is Trigger Reef, located near the Greek island of Kos. It's characterized by a rocky underwater landscape featuring two intriguing caverns. A historical element adds to its charm: an old chapel dedicated to Saint Irene, built by local fishermen and shepherds, sits above the waterline, providing a unique above-water point of interest. Navigating the site is relatively straightforward due to the shallow depths and generally calm conditions.

The marine life at Trigger Reef is diverse and abundant. Divers can expect to encounter a variety of species, including octopus, cuttlefish, moray eels, nudibranchs, lionfish, scorpionfish, starfish, seabreams, ornate and rainbow wrasse, and numerous sponges. This makes it an excellent site for both macro and wide-angle photography.

The best time to visit Trigger Reef is during the summer months (June-September) when the water is warm and visibility is at its best. The mild currents make it suitable for both scuba diving and freediving. However, always check local weather and sea conditions before diving. For freediving, remember to plan dives based on your experience and always dive with a buddy.
