This dive site, Pagodas Garden, is located on the south side of Carriacou, Grenada. It is characterized as a drift dive due to frequent strong currents, making it best suited for more experienced divers. The underwater topography features a gently sloping reef, famously adorned with a distinctive 'Chinese pagoda' shape, adding a unique aesthetic to the adventure.
The reef is teeming with diverse marine life. Divers can expect to encounter impressive big animals such as nurse sharks and eagle rays gracefully gliding through the water. Triggerfish are also a common sight, adding to the vibrant ecosystem of the colorful coral reef.
The best time to visit Carriacou for diving is typically during the dry season from December to May, when visibility is at its peak and sea conditions are generally calmer, although strong currents can still be present at Pagodas Garden. Divers should be comfortable with drift diving techniques and be aware of the currents. While the average depth is only 9 meters, the maximum depth reaches 19 meters, offering varied exploration opportunities.
