About this dive site
This dive site, Hard Coral Cafe, is located in the waters off Bangaram, India. It begins at the distinctive underwater fibre optic cable line, which is a unique navigational marker. Divers can follow a gently sloping reef adorned with abundant hard coral, descending from shallower depths down to approximately 22 meters before transitioning into a sandy bottom. The site is characterized by its healthy coral ecosystems and offers straightforward navigation.
The marine life here is rich and varied, including schools of Trevallys, colorful Sweetlips, majestic Turtles, swift Tuna, impressive Napoleon Wrasse, various Snappers, Triggerfish, robust Groupers, elusive Moray Eels, and vibrant Clownfish amidst the coral. The hard coral formations themselves provide a dynamic habitat for numerous smaller creatures.
The best time to visit Hard Coral Cafe is typically during the dry season in Lakshadweep, generally from October to May, when water conditions are calm and visibility is excellent. This site is ideal for both scuba divers and freedivers due to its manageable depths and clear waters. Divers can enjoy a relaxed exploration of the reef, perfect for underwater photography, while freedivers will appreciate the gentle slope and abundant marine encounters.
