About this dive site

This dive site, known as Ceningan Wall, offers a remarkable underwater experience in Nusa Penida. The descent begins on a shallow plateau affected by wave action, quickly transitioning to a dramatic, colorful wall that plunges into the deep blue. This area is renowned for its exceptional biodiversity and has become an ‘anthology’ of Nusa Penida’s marine life. The wall is completely covered in corals, sponges, and sea fans, creating a vibrant and diverse ecosystem. Currents play a significant role here, providing ample food and stimulating growth for both the flora and fauna. It's particularly popular among macro enthusiasts, offering opportunities to spot various nudibranch species such as Nembrotha, Chromodoris, and Flabelina, along with fascinating creatures like Zanzibar shrimps and Pigmy Seahorses. Moray eels, scorpionfish, and stonefish are frequently observed in the sheltered areas of the wall. Divers can also expect to encounter large schools of fish including giant Trevally, Tunas, and Batfish, and with a bit of luck, even families of white-spotted eagle rays. During cooler periods, the site is graced by the presence of Mola Mola (ocean sunfish).
