About this dive site

This dive site is unique within Bunaken for being the sole sloping reef. It was discovered by a Japanese diver many years ago and bears his name. The area features beautiful coral gardens, complemented by artificial reef formations designed to aid in the recovery of past damage. Currents are typically gentle, often zero or mild, though they can intensify near the cleaning station and corner of the reef. Divers can expect to encounter a diverse array of marine life including giant clams, sea turtles, large barrel sponges, cabbage coral, garden eels, numerous reef fish species, blue spotted rays, octopus, and nudibranchs. Closer to the pinnacle and corner, there's an increased chance of observing larger creatures such as eagle rays, giant barracuda, giant trevally, or tuna, often while they are being cleaned by smaller fish. Visibility is generally good.
