The wreck is encrusted with vibrant corals and teems with marine life, from massive schools of batfish and trevallies to macro critters like pygmy seahorses and nudibranchs. By day, explore its broken hull and swim-throughs; by night, witness mandarinfish mating, hunting lionfish, and the eerie glow of bio-luminescent plankton.

Wreck Information

The vessel rests at a depth of 30 meters and is approximately 25 meters from the shore, easily accessible via a short swim from the beach. The highest point of the wreck extends about 5 meters above the surface. The ship’s history is tied to its torpedoing by Japanese forces off the Island of Lombok, followed by towing to Tulamben for salvage operations. A significant event in the ship's story occurred during the 1963 eruption of Mount Agung, which tragically drove the vessel into the water just off shore, where it subsequently became encrusted with coral and a thriving habitat for various marine species.
